Text Box: The Garden of Happiness and West Side Story
“The Garden of Happiness” is a story of Marisol who helps an empty lot turn into a beautiful garden with the help of some other people who also live in New York City.
Her family originally comes from Puerto Rico, which is a Spanish-speaking island, and she helps make the block more beautiful with her sunflowers.

There is another story in New York City about a Puerto Rican girl named Maria.
It is called “West Side Story,” and it is based on Shakespeare’s story “Romeo and Juliet.”
Maria loves a boy named Tony, but their friends all hate each other.
It is a lovely and sad story about two cultures that don’t always get along well.

Do you know about any of Shakespeare’s stories?
